Incident Management - "The process of managing a crisis event."  In Chase fundamentally everything starts with an Incident, this is what we do, we manage incidents. 

Here are some more definitions:

"Incident management (IcM) refers to the activities of an organization to identify, analyze and correct hazards."

"Any event which is not part of the standard operation of a service and which causes, or may cause, an interruption to, or a reduction in, the quality of that service. The stated ITIL objective is to restore normal operations as quickly as possible with the least possible impact on either the business or the user, at a cost-effective price"

"Incident Management – process of managing incidents´ task is to recover services delivery as quickly as possible."

"Incident Management: Managing forms of non-recurring congestion, such as spills, collisions, immobile vehicles, or any other impediment to smooth, continuous flow of traffic on freeways."

"Incident management system—a system that defines the roles and responsibilities to be assumed by personnel and the operating procedures to be used in the management and direction of emergency operations; the system is also referred to as an “incident command system” (ICS)."
